NEBRASKA — With the winter weather season underway, the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) is inviting local media to the Nebraska Department of Transportation’s State Operations Center (SOC) for a Winter Operations Media Day today at 10 a.m.
During winter operations, it’s an all-hands-on-deck approach to keep the traveling public safe.
Maintenance crews in each of NDOT’s districts prioritize plowing the roads, while NDOT Operations facilitates and supports operations in the field. The SOC monitors the state highway network, all while providing real time updates on Nebraska 511 to keep drivers informed of the latest road conditions.
Members of the media will be able to interview various NDOT officials about what goes on behind the scenes during winter operations, as well as gather B-roll and photos of the SOC, and District 2 snowplows.
