MERRICK CO. — Deputies were dispatched to Highway 30 and 3rd Road in rural Merrick County regarding a two-vehicle injury accident on Sunday, Dec. 21.
The preliminary investigation concluded that a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling westbound when a 2023 Tesla traveling eastbound, crossed the center line of the Highway and struck the Chevrolet Equinox head on.
All parties of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected.
Driver of the Chevrolet Equinox was transported to Grand Island Regional by ambulance for minor injuries sustained during the accident.
The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Island Fire and Rescue Department and the Grand Island Rural Fire Department responded to the scene.
