LEXINGTON — — The Lexington Community Relief Fund, which officially opened on Dec. 12, 2025, has raised just over $50,000 through generous contributions from residents, statewide donors and partners, and supporters from across the nation.

This broad show of support reflects the far-reaching impact of the recent Tyson plant closure and the strength of community solidarity during a challenging time.

Funds raised will be dedicated to providing direct assistance to individuals and families through locally identified support agencies and organizations that work with those affected by the closure. Community relief support is anticipated to begin in early January 2026, helping address immediate needs as impacted individuals navigate this transition.

The Community Relief Fund is overseen by the Lexington Community Foundation and remains open to contributions, which can be made at https://www.lexfoundation.org/ways-to-give/community-relieffund.html. Donations are greatly appreciated, as the needs within the community are significant and ongoing.

Additional details, including eligibility requirements and the application process for assistance, will be shared soon to ensure those affected know how to access available support.

The Lexington Community Relief Fund remains committed to supporting impacted individuals and strengthening the community through collective action.
