GRAND ISLAND — The annual central Nebraska New Year’s Eve Comedy Show is being hosted on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at The Venue in Grand Island on South Locust.
The comedians this year include headliner April Macie and opener Zako Ryan.
April Macie
“April Macie was a finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2006, has appeared on E! Entertainment, Sirius and XM Radio, Access Hollywood, Talk Soup, and HLN. April has appeared on the Howard Stern show where in 2008 she was voted the “Funniest and Hottest” comedian in America,” according to her website.
“She also gave a TEDx talk on turning pain into humor. Currently, April travels internationally as a headlining stand-up comedian. April can also be seen on the Netflix series Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready,” per the website.
Macie is known for her sharp, biting humor and has traveled internationally as a part of her comedy career.
Zako Ryan
“Zako Ryan grew up in the South before landing in the Midwest, where he cut his teeth doing stand up comedy in Chicago-one of the best training grounds for aspiring comedians. That combination of Southern roots and Chicago’s no-nonsense comedy scene broke his brain in the funniest way possible,” according to his IMDB page.
“Zako has seamlessly transitioned his talents from the comedy stage to television with roles in hit shows such as Chicago PD and Power: Force. You may have seen him on NBC, Starz, or even that one cat food commercial…,” per IMDB.
The New Year’s Eve Comedy Show will be held Dec. 31, 2025 at The Venue at Bosselmans on South Locust in Grand Island

- 6:30pm Show – Doors open at 5:30pm Buy tickets for the 6:30 show
- 9:30pm Show – Doors open at 9:00pm Buy tickets for the 9:30 show
Tickets are $30 in advance $35 day of show. Tickets also available for purchase at Thunder Road Sports Bar.
