LEXINGTON — At its January meeting, the Dawson Public Power District Board voted to retain its current officers.
Dan Muhlbach of Kearney was re-elected as President, Craig Wietjes of Riverdale will continue to serve as Vice President, and Page Peterson of Gothenburg was reaffirmed as Treasurer.
Financial reports through November 2025 show year-to-date revenue was slightly below budget by 3% and nearly the same as 2024. Overall operating costs are 1% less than budgeted, although they are up 2% compared to the previous year. Year-to-date net margin is $1.36 million under budget.
The Board was provided with updates on DPPD’s Key Accounts, Crisis Communication Plan, and Cybersecurity Incident Response Policy. Safety Director Dean Kunkee presented his capstone project from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Management Internship Program and expressed appreciation to the Board for supporting his participation in this valuable training.

• Several Board Members and DPPD Employees attended the Nebraska Rural Electric Association Annual Meeting.
• Directors Craig Wietjes, Brad Brodine, Dan Muhlbach, and Page Peterson attended the Mid-West Electric Consumers Association Annual Meeting.
• Directors Brad Brodine and Craig Wietjes, and DPPD Leadership Team Members Alyssa Clemsen Roberts and Cole Brodine attended the Nebraska Public Power District’s December Customer Meeting.
• The DPPD Board and Leadership Team are scheduled to conduct strategic planning for the organization in February.
• The next board meeting will be February 3.
