A local man won over $20,000 in a regional poker tournament.
Phil Mader of Grand Island won the $400 Seniors 50+ side event at the Major Series of Poker-sponsored Club Poker Championship at the Potawatomi Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this past weekend.
With the win and prize money totaling $23,850 after a chop (split the pot) with Gerald Cundiff, Mader earned his first gold card in the Major Series of Poker circuit, and his career earning have exceeded the $250,000 mark in the Major Series of Poker. He has also earned over $450,000 in the World Series of Poker circuit.
