SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa announced the death of a freshman student from Hastings on Monday, March 2.
The following is the announcement the university made on social media:
It is with deep sadness that we share that one of our students was found deceased in their residence hall during spring break.
Jaden Ochsner was a first-year student from Hastings, Nebraska, who came to Morningside as a member of the swim team. She loved attending sporting events and visiting Bette, our campus animal ambassador. Her family has asked for time and space right now while they process this unimaginable loss.
We join the Morningside Athletics family, the Morningside Women’s Swim Team, and the entire Morningside community in extending our sincerest condolences to Jaden’s family and friends during this difficult time.
This is a sad day for the Morningside community. Let us find strength in each other by joining together to mourn one of our own and to support each other through this difficult time.
