Nebraska pitcher Jordy Frahm was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week by the conference office Monday. It’s Frahm’s first honor of the season, but she’s the third Cornhuskers pitcher to win the award this season. It’s the first time in school history that Nebraska has had three pitchers earn conference pitcher of the week honors in the same year.
Frahm threw 10 shutout innings while earning a win and a save. The save was her seventh of the year, tying Rhonda Revelle’s 1983 school record for saves in a season. Frahm also threw a complete game shutout Friday, striking out a season-high 12 batters.
The Huskers are preparing for their biggest series of the season, as No. 8 Nebraska hosts No. 7 UCLA beginning Friday at 8 p.m. at Bowlin Stadium.
