The Nebraska baseball team’s season came to an end last night in the championship game of the Fayetteville Regional. Tied at-2 with two-down in the bottom or the 8th inning, the top-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks took advantage of 3-walks, a wild pitch, and a 3-run homer to come away with a 6-2 win. The Big Ten Champion Huskers end the season with a record of 34-14. The Razorbacks host North Carolina State in a best 2-of-3 Super Regional this weekend. That winner advances to the College World Series in Omaha.

Three former Huskers are on the roster of the USA Volleyball team that will be competing at the Tokyo Olympics in late July. Two-time medalist Jordan Larson will make her third appearance on the Olympic team. Kelsey Robinson returns for a second appearance after winning a bronze medal in Rio in 2016. And libero Justine Wong-Orantes will be making her Olympic debut. The U.S. is No. 1 in the world rankings but have never won Olympic gold. The Americans won bronze in Rio 2016, and silver in London 2012 and Beijing 2008.

In Husker football news:

– Chase Androff, a three-star tight end from Minnesota, has announced his commitment to the Huskers. The 6-foot-6, 230-pound Androff also had offers from Iowa State and UCF. He’ the third member of the Huskers’ 2022 recruiting class, joining wide receiver Victor Jones Jr. (Orlando, Florida) and linebacker Ernest Hausmann (Columbus).
