LINCOLN, Neb. (KGFW) – Human remains found last week at Pawnee Lake have been identified as those of 23-year-old Carly Schaaf.
The Lincoln Police Dept. said Saturday that an autopsy confirmed identify, but the manner and cause of Schaaf’s death are still under investigation.
Schaaf’s mother reported her missing on May 19.
Investigators believe she went missing under suspicious circumstances.
Her remains were found Thursday at the Lancaster County lake.
At Monday morning news conference, Lincoln Police interim Chief Brian Jackson said that the circumstances of Shaaf’s death and disappearance remain under investigation.
Interim Chief Jackson asked anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
