KEARNEY, Neb. (KGFW) – Nebraska is ahead of the game with a low unemployment rate. But it’s also struggling since there are still many jobs left vacant and in dire need to be filled. Some jobs that are in demand are youth facility jobs.
We know employers are looking for workers, from retail to fast food. But even government jobs, like the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is looking for people to fill in, especially for its Youth facilities. Randy Kissinger with the Department of Labor tells us about how they hope to remedy that hole.
Even though the event is virtual it will still hold informational sessions with applicants, to allow them to learn more about what a job would entail.
The event not only provides an avenue for those seeking a profession but an opportunity to get involved in helping the youth.
The Virtual Career Event will take place July 22, 2021, taking applications until July 19. Apply at statejobs.nebraska.gov or find more information through the NDHHS career page.
