The Nebraska football team is holding their fourth practice of the fall this morning. Defensive coaches and players will meet the media later today. The Huskers open the season with a Week-Zero road game at Illinois, Saturday August 28th. Kickoff will be at noon.
The Huskers got a commitment from Valen Erickson Friday, a three-star offensive lineman from Chicago. The 6-foot-6 280 pounder chose Nebraska over 12 other offers, from the likes of: Purdue, Illinois, Missouri, Cincinnati and Tennessee.

– Oklahoma and Texas are officially on their way towards being members of the SEC. On Friday, the board of regents at both schools voted to accept the SEC’s invite to join the league once the grant of rights agreement expires in 2025.
– The NCAA Board of Governors announced on Friday that they would be convening a constitutional convention in November to provide recommendations for restructuring the Association across all three divisions.
Kearney Catholic boys golf coach Stuart Moore will now also coach the Stars’ girls golf program. He replaces Amanda Roberts who is moving to Minnesota with her husband.
