The Nebraska football team held their fourth practice of the fall yesterday. With several sixth-year seniors and other veterans back, defensive coordinator Erik Chinander said this fall feels very different from previous years. Chinander noted that the veterans are willing to do things the right way, and are holding the younger players accountable. The Huskers will have an off day today, but will return to the practice field tomorrow morning. The Huskers open the season with a Week-Zero road game at Illinois, Saturday August 28th. Kickoff will be at noon.

The New Orleans Saints have signed former Husker defensive back Prince Amukamara to a free agent deal. A nine-year NFL veteran, Amukamara was a first round pick by the New York Giants in 2011. He spent the 2020 preseason with the Las Vegas Raiders but ended the year on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.
The UNK men’s basketball team added another recruit yesterday. Tom Connelly is a 6-6, 190-pound wing from Denver East High School. He’s the eighth member of the Lopers recruiting class. The UNK men will open the 2021-22 season in Duluth, Minn., with contests against the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs and Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles.
