Husker quarterback Adrian Martinez, tight end Austin Allen, defensive back Cam Taylor-Britt and defensive lineman Damion Daniels were announced as team captains Saturday evening. Martinez, who was also selected as a team captain in 2019 and 2020, becomes the first three-time captain in program history. The Huskers open their season at Illinois this Saturday, kickoff will be at noon.

– Walk-on wide receiver Austin Jablonski has entered the transfer portal. The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder from Lincoln Pius was part of Nebraska’s 2019 walk-on class. He redshirted in 2019 and did not play in a game last season.
The Nebraska volleyball team held their annual Red-White Scrimmage Saturday evening, with the match ending in a 2-2 tie in front of 7,940 fans at the Devaney Center. The last time the Huskers played in front of the home fans was Dec. 7th, 2019. The Huskers are hosting their own invite this weekend. They face Tulsa Friday morning at 11:00, and Colgate at 6:30. They take on former Big 12 foe Kansas State Saturday at 4:00.
The Creighton Volleyball team edged Iowa State in five sets (3-2) in an exhibition match Friday inside D.J. Sokol Arena. The Jays open the regular-season at the Mizzou Invitational this weekend.
The UNK volleyball team downed the Air Force Academy in five sets Saturday afternoon in Colorado (25-23, 24-26, 25 -23, 21-25, 15-9). This was an exhibition for both teams. The Lopers travel to New York City for the Molloy College Tourney in two weeks. The UNK women’s soccer team is hosting Hastings College in an exhibition contest tomorrow night at 7:00. The UNK football team opens their season a week from this Thursday with a home game against Missouri Southern.
