NEBRASKA FOOTBALL MONDAY PRACTICE COMMENTS:
FROST – MONDAY PRACTICE A GOOD RALLY
Head Coach Scott Frost enters the final road game of the season with Nebraska sitting at 3-7 overall and having fired most of the offensive coaching staff last Monday.
Frost said his team came out for a good practice on Monday and is ready to fight through the final two weeks…
Nebraska will be missing senior leadership in JoJo Domann, who ended his Husker career after suffering an injury against Ohio State and looks to prepare for the NFL Draft.
FROST – MULTIPLE DEFENDERS WILL REPLACE DOMANN
The Blackshirts will be without one of their key pieces for the remainder of the season as senior linebacker hybrid JoJo Domann ended his Husker career after an injury suffered during the Ohio State contest.
Head Coach Scott Frost said replacing Domann won’t be as simple as finding one person to fill the role…
Domann finished the year with 71 total tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions.
FROST – NOT EASY TO COMPETE AGAINST BADGERS
Head Coach Scott Frost spoke to the media after Monday’s practice and spoke about the Wisconsin team that has rattled off six straight wins…
The Badgers have the top rated overall defense in college football, allowing the fewest yards per contest at 216 yards per game.
FROST – NO BLUEPRINT FOR SUCCESS FOR WISCONSIN
Nebraska Head Coach Scott Frost spoke to the media as his team prepares for the No. 19 Wisconsin Badgers. Frost was asked if the team can pull any positives from the last two matchups with Wisconsin to find any road maps for success…
Wisconsin has won seven straight games against Nebraska dating back to the 2012 Big Ten Championship game. Each game Frost has coached against Wisconsin, the Badgers were ranked inside the Top 20 and won 17 points and 16 points in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
FROST – BADGER DEFENSE TALENTED AND HARD-HITTING
Nebraska’s revamped offensive coaching staff will face the stiffest test possible when the Huskers travel to Wisconsin to take on a top-ranked Badger defense.
Head Coach Scott Frost says the Badgers are talented, well-coached, and hard-hitting…
The Nebraska offense averages 26 points per game, while the Badgers only allow 14. #12 Notre Dame scored 41 and #14 Michigan had 38 points on Wisconsin earlier this season.
FROST – GOOD TO HEAR RON BROWN AT PRACTICE AGAIN
With the firing of most of the Huskers offensive coaching staff, Head Coach Scott Frost called up a few familiar faces to help in the interim transition before the season concludes. One of those interim coaches happens to be Ron Brown, an assistant coach under Tom Osborne when Frost was a player.
The Head Coach and former Husker quarterback said it was good to see Brown back on the practice field…
Brown has been with the Huskers program since 1987 as an assistant coach under Osborne, Frank Solich, and Bo Pelini before stepping into an analyst and player development role under Frost.
FROST – PACE NOT A PRIORITY AGAINST WISCONSIN
Head Coach Scott Frost was asked at Monday’s press conference if his offense will push the pace to test the Badgers defense…
Wisconsin’s offense averages 26 points per game, the same mark as the Huskers.
FROST – A LOT GOING ON FOR THE FOOTBALL PROGRAM
Scott Frost and the Nebraska Football team were busy in the bye week – after restructuring his contract and firing most of his offensive coaching staff on Monday, Frost also departed Lincoln to hit the recruiting trail, notably visiting Texas to scout future hopeful Huskers.
Frost mentioned this has been a very busy time for the program…
Frost added his main focus is winning out the rest of the season. The Huskers play their final road game of the season at Wisconsin on Saturday. Kickoff from Camp Randall Stadium is set at 2:30 PM.
FROST – COORDINATOR WILL BE HIRED FIRST
Head Coach Scott Frost reiterated at his Monday post practice press conference that he is completely focused on the contest with Wisconsin on Saturday, but added that he has taken some time to continue the search for Nebraska’s next offensive coordinator…
Athletic Director Trev Alberts had mentioned last week the goal is to hire a coordinator that can take over play-calling responsibilities from Frost to help the head coach focus on the team during game days.
FROST – KICKING STRUGGLES IS SPECIALISTS’ SLUMP
Head Coach Scott Frost was asked if another kicking competition took place during the Huskers’ most recent bye week. Frost said the competition remains open, but he’s hoping his specialists’ can get back on track…
Nebraska is currently 8 of 16 overall in field goal tries this season.

MCGOWENS’ EARNS BIG TEN HONORS
Nebraska freshman Bryce McGowens was honored Monday, as he was chosen Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
McGowens averaged a Big Ten best 27.0 points per game on 52 percent shooting along with 5.5 rebounds per game in two games last week. He became the second Husker freshman in school history to post multiple 25-point games, joining Dave Hoppen in 1982-83.
