Thompson added he had spoke with former quarterback Adrian Martinez about the Huskers. Nebraska has also received a commitment from Florida State transfer Chubba Purdy, making a crowded quarterback room at the Huskers for 2022.

MORTON COMMITS TO NEBRASKA:
Nebraska added their 16th commitment to their traditional 2022 recruiting class from Garden City (Kan.) C.C. defensive back Javier Morton.
The talented junior college cornerback was in Lincoln this weekend for an official visit with his family and committed to Nebraska.
Morton had originally committed to Alabama in high school. He said that he had over 50 offers when he chose the Crimson Tide. Morton said that he stopped counting the offers he accumulated while at Garden City.

UNK’S FERGUSON BREAKS NCAA DIV. 2 RECORD:
UNK Track & Field competed at the Graduate Classic Invite in Lincoln last weekend, and broke a few records along the way.
Redshirt Sophomore Wes Ferguson from Fremont has been confirmed as the new All-Time record holder in the 1000 meters. With a time of 2:23.80, Ferguson was also named the US Track & Field Coaches Association Athlete of the Week.
SERGEEV AND WILSON NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK BY USHL:
Tri-City Storm players Jeremy Wilmer and Arsenii Sergeev have earned Player of the Week Honors for Week 16 of the 2021-2022 regular season. The United States Hockey League (USHL) announced today that Wilmer has been named the league’s Forward of the Week and Sergeev has been named the Goaltender of the Week.
Jeremy Wilmer, 18, of Rockville Centre, New York, recorded four assists and finished the weekend with a plus/minus rating of +3 for the Storm.
Arsenii Sergeev, 19, of Yaroslavl, Russia, has been named the USHL Goaltender of the Week for the third time this season after posting a pair of wins in net this past weekend for the Storm

HUSKER WOMEN LOOK TO GET BACK TO WINNING WAYS ON THURSDAY:
The Nebraska women’s basketball team returns to Lincoln for a midweek clash with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Thursday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Tip-off between the Huskers (13-4, 2-4 Big Ten) and the Scarlet Knights (7-12, 0-7 Big Ten) is set for 7 p.m. (CT)
Nebraska will be looking to turn the tide on three straight losses that included a pair of setbacks to top-25 Iowa around a seven-point loss at No. 6 Indiana. The Huskers, who have played four of their first six Big Ten games on the road, will play four of their next five at home.
