HUSKER BASEBALL WRAPS UP REGULAR SEASON AGAINST SPARTY:
Nebraska is set for the final weekend of the regular-season, as the Huskers welcome Michigan State to Hawks Field for a three-game series on Thursday-Saturday in Lincoln.
First pitch for the series opener on Thursday is set for 6:35 p.m. The Huskers and Spartans continue the series with game two scheduled for a 6:32 p.m. start on Friday. Nebraska and Michigan State wrap up the series on Saturday at 12:05 p.m.
Saturday’s series finale is Senior Day for Nebraska, where the Huskers will recognize six seniors – Shay Schanaman, Efry Cervantes, Cam Chick, Griffin Everitt, Koty Frank and Dawson McCarville.
Michigan State enters the weekend with a 23-28 overall record and 7-14 mark in Big Ten play after winning one of three games last weekend vs. Iowa.
Nebraska and Michigan State have played 26 all-time, with the Huskers leading the all-time series with a 15-9 record. The Huskers are 5-1 against the Spartans all-time in Lincoln.

OTTERDAHL NAMED BIG TEN FIELD ATHLETE OF CHAMPIONS:
Nebraska track and field’s Maxwell Otterdahl was named the Big Ten Men’s Field Athlete of the Championships on Wednesday after a vote by the league’s head coaches.
Otterdahl completed an impressive double over the weekend at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships in Minneapolis. He won the shot put on Saturday with a throw of 64-8 (19.71m) and followed up with the discus gold medal after a personal best of 190-11 (58.19m) on Sunday. Otterdahl became the first Husker male to win both the shot put and discus titles at the same conference meet since Carl Myerscough at the 2004 Big 12 Championships.

NEBRASKA SOFTBALL OPENS NCAA REGIONAL AGAINST NORTH TEXAS:
The Nebraska softball team is set to make its 25th appearance in the NCAA Tournament at the NCAA Stillwater Regional. The Huskers will face North Texas in game one on Friday, May 20, at 5 p.m. (CT) at Cowgirl Stadium.
The Huskers will face North Texas (35-14) in game one of the NCAA Stillwater Regional. The Mean Green received an automatic bid to their first NCAA Tournament after claiming the CUSA Tournament title. UNT had five players receive all-conference honors from the CUSA for their performances throughout the year.
Nebraska is 16th in the nation in slugging percentage (.536), 18th in doubles (83), and 19th in scoring (6.20) and batting average (.315). The Huskers’ .971 fielding percentage is currently chasing the school record of .973 which was set in 2006.
The Huskers rank 19th in the nation in batting average (.315) and scoring per game (6.20).
