The City of Kearney Park and Recreation Department and the Yanney Heritage Park Foundation are coordinating Heritage Day at Yanney Park on Saturday, June 4.
Following is the Heritage Day Schedule:
9:00am Sue Bush Memorial Two Mile Run/Walk. Register by May 26 to receive a t-shirt. All ages, call 237-4644 for more information.
11:00am to 1:00pm Family Fishing Day presented by Nebraska Game & Parks Commission. Cabela’s fishing poles to the first 100 kids. Adults need to have a Nebraska Fishing License.
11:00am to 1:00pm Free Lunch by Optimist. Hot dog, chips and a treat served while
supplies last.
11:00am to 9:00pm Concessions/Marina Open.
12:00 to 2:00pm Storybook Walk, starts at Mitzi’s Pavilion. Enjoy a walk around the lake while reading “And Then Comes Summer” by Tom Brenner. Walk starts at Mitzi’s Pavilion.
12:00 to 3:00pm Cabela’s Kayak & Stand Up Paddleboard Test Drives
1:30 to 3:00pm Flip Flop Door Charm Painting with Paint Paradise
1:30 to 4:00pm BINGO! at Peterson Senior Activity Center, all ages welcome.
3:00pm Teddy Bear Mobile. First 40 kids will pick out their own animal and watch it get stuffed. Wishing charm, birth certificate and backpack will come with your stuffed animal.
4:00 to 8:30pm Yanney Bash. Inflatables, Games & Activities .
4:00 to 9:00pm Food Fair at Peterson Senior Activity Center Roundabout.
5:00 to 5:30pm Shinja Rock Solid Systems Martial Arts Performance by Mitzi’s
Pavilion.
5:30 to 10:00pm Musical Entertainment:
5:30 p.m. – Raw Slang
6:45 p.m. – Slamabama
8:30 p.m. – John Scalia & the Dirty Word Band
Approx. 10:00 p.m. Fireworks Finale
There is not an admission for Heritage Day, but a free will donation is encouraged during the concerts.
