LINCOLN – The 2023-24 High School basketball season has officially finished with the completion of the championship and third-place games for all classes in Lincoln on Saturday.

In Class A, the fifth-straight matchup between Millard North and Bellevue West ended in the Thunderbirds favor, going back-to-back in state championships with their 57-48 victory.

Class B featured Omaha Skutt Catholic and Norris, as the Skyhawks took their championship in a 70-63 victory.

The ultra-competitive Class C1 saw Wahoo win an overtime battle 49-42 over Auburn in a matchup of the fifth seed against the third. Top-seeded Omaha Concordia finished third in a 59-44 victory over Ashland-Greenwood.

Amherst earned their first state championship in school history with an all-time classic overtime win, 59-54 over Lincoln Lutheran. 

Cross County ended third in Class C2, taking down Norfolk Catholic 59-50.

Johnson-Brock finished off their undefeated season going back-to-back as Class D1 state champions fending off future Husker Carter Nelson in their 52-45 win. Guardian Angel Central Catholic was third with a 49-42 victory over Plainview.

Finally in Class D2, the final nightcap game of the season was an impressive 54-42 win for the Shelton Bulldogs, taking their first state championship in over a century.

Shelton’s win over Maywood-Hayes Center completed the night, as Wynot won over Sumner-Eddyville-Miller 71-47 for third place.
