An efficient and healthful way to use leftovers – and help tackle food waste issues

Food waste is a problem in the United States.  By definition, food waste is perfectly good, safe-to-eat food that gets thrown away instead of eaten.  It happens at home, in stores, at restaurants, and at farms.

Did you Know: around 92 billion pounds of food or roughly 145 billion meals are thrown away annually.  That’s around 40% of all food in America.
