Iowa Women’s Basketball Head Coach Lisa Bluder Retires; Assistant Named Next Coach

IOWA CITY, IA – University of Iowa women’s basketball head coach Lisa Bluder announced on Monday that she is retiring after 24 seasons with the program.

Bluder said that after this past season, she spent time with student-athletes and her family deciding what her next steps would be. She said it became clear that it was time to step aside.

The University of Iowa has also announced that Jan Jensen will take over as the program’s head coach. She has served the last 20 years as the associate head coach under Lisa Bluder.

Iowa is the only Big Ten opponent on Nebraska Women’s Basketball 2024-25 schedule slated for a home and away matchup.
