KEARNEY — There were two incidents that took place in Interstate 80 construction zones between Lexington and Kearney over the weekend.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, one of the accidents took place on Saturday morning when a car and trailer stopped on the shoulder was struck by a semi-trailer that came onto the shoulder.

The car appeared to have rolled into the ditch, while the semi-trailer left I-80 and came to a stop in the north ditch.

There were no serious injuries.

A second incident took place on Sunday and involved three semi-trailers and two passenger vehicles and appeared to be a chain reaction crash due to traffic slowing in the construction zone.

No injures were reported, but traffic was diverted from I-80 around 10 a.m. and reopened around 2 p.m.
