ALDA — A two vehicle accident near the Alda exit brought traffic on Interstate 80 to a standstill during the afternoon hours of Thursday, Aug. 29.
Prior to 2:30 p.m., it appeared that one vehicle had rear ended another in the westbound lane amid a heavy rain squall that was moving through the area.
The accident and subsequent cleanup efforts blocked the left lane of the westbound lane and traffic in the area was backed up for close to an hour or longer.
Any injuries of those involved were not available on scene.
The Nebraska State Patrol, Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska Department of Transportation were the parties on scene.
