MINDEN — After holding the position in an interim role since September, Jarvis Kring was formally named to the role by the Minden city council during their meeting on Monday, Dec. 16.
Kring was named to the interim role after former police chief Bradley Butler resigned from his role in September.
“In the meantime, Minden Police Department Captain Jarvis Kring has agreed to assume the duties necessary to the effective administration of the Minden Police Department until a new chief of police is appointed,” per the City of Minden.
Kring is a Minden native with 20 years of law enforcement experience. Kring had also been one of the city council members for the north ward at the time of his promotion in duties.
He will be formally sworn into the role in January 2025.
