KEARNEY — The Kearney Little League have won the state championship and is headed to the regional tournament in Indianapolis.

Kearney won against Keystone Little League All-Stars Majors, (11-12 year-olds) 10-3 to force a second game and then won convincingly in a 10-1 victory to claim the championship.

The 10-1 victory over Keystone was the sixth straight win for Kearney, who lost the opener to Keystone, 8-2.

The team is now headed to the regional tournament in Indianapolis which starts Aug. 1. The games will be streamed on the ESPN Plus subscription service.

The Kearney Little League has now claimed 14 state championships, they include wins in 2000, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and now 2025.

Kearney was one of the host sites of the 2025 Nebraska Little League State Tournament finals.

The Kearney Minors All-Star Team (10-year-olds) also won their state championship.

Barrett Aschwege and Nolan Arnold will represent Kearney along with Grand Island and Hastings in the Central Region Tournament in Midland Michigan from July 23-27.
