KEARNEY — Alexandra Dillon, Early Learning Connection Grant Manager at ESU10, was honored by the Buffalo County Community Partners Board of Directors with the Above and Beyond Volunteer Award.
Alexandra Dillon was presented with the Above & Beyond Award for her extraordinary commitment and numerous hours of volunteering with Buffalo County Community Partners. Dillon first volunteered over a decade ago to raise awareness about the impact of Alzheimer’s disease on families and loved ones, connecting people to resources and the latest research. Today, Dillon continues to bring the latest research on brain development to early childhood.
“Alexandra embodies this award for her commitment to the people who live and work in our communities. Every action she takes is focused on helping a child or parent navigate the challenges they face in our community every day,” shared Buffalo County Community Partners CEO, Denise Zwiener.
In recent years, Alexandra Dillon has been a leader in several early childhood initiatives, including her work with the Buffalo County Early Childhood Collaborative, advocating for center-wide childcare education through the Rooted in Relationship Pyramid Model program, and helping lead the 6 Regions, One Nebraska work with Central Childcare Champions.
Dena Beck, the Central Navigator with 6 Regions, One Nebraska, said, “Alexandra, without perhaps knowing it, served as a mentor, teacher, and guiding star, and I navigated this somewhat unfamiliar territory. She is the perfect mix of thorough and analytical, with the right mix of sincerity and humor. She is a delight to work alongside, and I am better for knowing her.”
Dr. Melissa Wheelock, ESU 10 Administrator, says of Alexandra, “Alexandra is deeply committed to advancing early childhood initiatives within our community, region, and state. Her engaging and supportive personality enables her to build meaningful and enduring relationships, allowing her to effectively connect individuals to vital resources.”
During the award presentation, Dillon shared, “I am truly overwhelmed and so grateful. This is not easy work; it’s tough. I appreciate Buffalo County Community Partners and the hard work they do. It’s been a joy to be able to support that.”
