SUMNER — State Senator Teresa Ibach today announced her campaign for re-election to represent District 44 in the Nebraska Legislature, pledging to continue her work as a strong voice for rural Nebraska.
“As a farmer and rancher, I live the same challenges facing rural families every day,” said Senator Ibach. “In the Legislature, I’ve worked hard to bring common-sense leadership, build consensus across the aisle, and ensure rural voices are heard. With your support, I will continue fighting for the future of District 44.”
Senator Ibach currently serves in several key leadership positions within the Unicameral, including the Executive Board (Executive Committee), Rules Committee, Committee on Committees, Agriculture Committee where she serves as Vice Chair, Business and Labor Committee, Revenue Committee, and Referencing Committee. She has also taken on national leadership responsibilities as Co-Chair of the Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee for the Midwest Legislative Council and as Nebraska State Chair for the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).
A graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Senator Ibach and her husband, Greg—who previously served as Nebraska’s Director of Agriculture and later as Undersecretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs at USDA—have devoted their lives to agriculture and public service. They are the proud parents of triplets, all engaged in agriculture careers, and grandparents to three grandchildren.
“My focus will continue to be the issues that matter most to rural Nebraska — supporting family farms and ranches, promoting fair tax policy, expanding economic opportunities in small towns, improving access to early childhood education and childcare, strengthening housing and healthcare access, and investing in infrastructure,” Senator Ibach said.
District 44 covers eight counties across southwest Nebraska. Senator Ibach was first elected in 2022 and is seeking her second term.
