Interstate 80, (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)

LINCOLN — Weather permitting, road construction work will begin April 1 along I-80, from the Pleasant Dale Interchange to NW 56th Street, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Hawkins, Inc. of Omaha has the contract to widen I-80 to six lanes, reconstruct the Pleasant Dale Interchange ramps, as well as reconstruct the NW 126th, NW 112th, NW 98th and NW 84th street overhead bridges to span over I-80. Work will include grading, culvert, concrete pavement, bridge, and electrical work.

Traffic will be maintained with reduced speeds and nighttime lane closures. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Nov. 2026.

This project is part of NDOT’s ongoing commitment to improving the State’s transportation infrastructure and promoting the safe and efficient movement of people and goods.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, put phones down, and pay attention to construction and detour signs.
