GRAND ISLAND — A Grand Island woman was arrested following a traffic stop and the discovery of cocaine and THC vape cartridges in the vehicle during the early morning hours of Thursday, March 28.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, a vehicle was observed to be traveling southbound on Highway 281 faster than the posted speed limit.

A traffic stop was initiated near the section of Highway 281 and Wildwood Dr., but the driver continued westbound and came to a stop near the intersection of Wildwood Dr. and Gold Core Road.

The driver was identified by officers as Olivia Allison, who stated that she showed signs of impairment during the Standardized Field Sobriety Test and provided a failing sample during the preliminary breath test.

Officers said the odor of marijuana was detected emanating from Allison’s vehicle and it was subsequently searched.

A white substance was located inside of the vehicle and later tested presumptive positive for cocaine. Several THC vape cartridges were also located in the vehicle.

Allison was arrested for driving under the influence – first offense, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana – less than one ounce and speeding 16-20 municipal.

She was later booked into the Hall County Department of Corrections.
