KEARNEY – The Kearney Bearcat Baseball program had some schedule re-shuffling to do over the past two days due to inclement weather and the cancelation of school activities.
The Bearcats (3-2) were originally slated for a long week of action beginning Monday at Columbus, followed by a Wednesday-Thursday homestand hosting Grand Island and Lincoln East, while ending the week in a doubleheader road matchup in the metro against Millard West and Millard South.
Due to back-to-back snow days impacted by the blizzard on Monday and Tuesday, Kearney now resets their schedule with a Wednesday road trip to Columbus, followed by a rest day then a home triangular with Kearney, Grand Island, and Lincoln East on Friday.
Tonight’s matchup at Columbus will have first pitch from Pawnee Park at 5 PM with KGFW providing radio coverage to start at 4:45 PM. Austin Jacobsen will be on the call from 1340 KGFW, 96.1 FM, on the free KGFW mobile app, and online at KGFW.com.
Friday’s schedule at Memorial Field features Kearney and Lincoln East in the opening game at 11 AM, with the Spartans and Grand Island facing off at 1 PM, then a 3 PM first-pitch with the Bearcats and Islanders. KGFW will cover both Kearney matchups, with pregame beginning fifteen minutes prior to the opening pitch.
